Building on the success of bringing fiber internet to Lake City, I'm committed to extending high-speed internet access to as many households as possible in Hinsdale County. Our terrain presents challenges, but I'll continue to seek practical solutions and partnerships to maximize connectivity. This infrastructure is vital for our economic development, education, and competitiveness. My goal is to connect as much of our county as feasible, ensuring access to this essential service for the greatest number of residents.
-
My goal is to strike a delicate balance between supporting the recreational tourism that OHVs bring to our area and addressing the legitimate concerns of my constituents.
I support OHV recreation throughout our entire county. It is a long-established activity that has grown in popularity and has become a significant part of our tourism economy.
I am open to the idea of expanding the route to Woodlake Park and San Juan Springs Drive, with the condition that speed limit changes by CDOT are implemented and safe and well-designed turnaround areas are put in place.
I support the OHV highway program and believe we can maintain a unique program that benefits our residents and visitors. I am committed to ensuring that this program does not compromise what makes Lake City and Hinsdale County a unique and special destination for everyone.
I do not support expanding the program beyond the four-month timeframe. I believe this is essential for preserving the harmony of our community, protecting the well-being of our wildlife, and limiting the impact on infrastructure and natural resources.
I am neither the pro-ohv candidate nor the anti-ohv candidate. I am the candidate who can see we need a balance. OHVs have a place in our county, but they do not define our county or the job of a commissioner.

I recognize that the housing affordability crisis is a complex, statewide challenge without easy solutions. Nevertheless, I'm committed to ensuring Hinsdale County remains accessible to working families and long-term residents. This requires a multi-faceted approach:
Collaborating with neighboring counties, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, and the Town of Lake City
Working closely with the Hinsdale County Planning & Zoning Commission
Seeking out and securing funding opportunities
Addressing local restrictions that may hinder affordable housing development
Exploring the potential creation of a county housing authority
While there's no quick fix, I'm dedicated to being a proactive part of the solution. By fostering partnerships, leveraging resources we can make meaningful progress toward more affordable housing options in our community.
-
I am committed to safeguarding Hinsdale County's financial well-being through efficient budget management to maximize the impact of every tax dollar. I pledge to manage our budget with utmost efficiency and transparency and make sure each dollar delivers maximum value to our community. I will continue to pursue grants and external funding opportunities to supplement our budget without increasing the burden on local taxpayers. By leveraging these resources, I aim to fund critical projects and initiatives that might otherwise be out of reach. Ultimately, my goal is to create a sustainable, prosperous economic environment that benefits all residents of Hinsdale County, now and in the future.

Critical Infrastructure: My priorities include public facilities, ongoing communication upgrades, road improvements, and a rehabilitation of the Hill 71 solar array.

What People Are Saying
Greg Levine has my wholehearted support for District 1 Hinsdale County Commissioner. In his first term as Commissioner, Greg has proven to be knowledgeable, hardworking, compassionate, and committed to serving all of the citizens of Hinsdale County. In an age of polarized politics his ability to hear all sides of an issue and work diligently to find common ground is a hugely valuable asset for the health and future of our county.

I am voting to re-elect Greg Levine to serve as the Hinsdale County Commissioner for District 1. The knowledge he has gained over the past four years, along with his ability to fairly assess the many issues that frequently arise, qualifies him to serve another term. Furthermore, Greg’s ability to preside over commissioners’ meetings by encouraging respectful discourse among those with diverse views, promotes good governance and decision-making. Challenges such as affordable housing, aging infrastructure, providing adequate emergency services, and the need for a sustainable year-round economy, require strong and experienced leadership. With this in mind, I urge our citizens to vote for Greg’s re-election to the Hinsdale County Board of Commissioners.

I support Greg Levine, who is running for another term as Hinsdale County's District 1 Commissioner. Being a retired businessman, I have developed a keen eye for people I work with. Greg checks all the boxes. He does what he says he's going to do. Greg can make decisions that are best for the county, and even if not in his best interest, he remains objective. Greg is constantly thinking of the county, recruiting volunteers, or getting a summer person to enjoy Lake City and the surrounding area to the fullest. He doesn't speak ill of political adversaries, or anybody for that matter. Greg Does His Job. He goes above and beyond to work with whoever is necessary to get whatever is needed for the job at hand.
Greg would go to Washington DC, to sell a case for Hinsdale County if it helps us! Evidence of this was his work with Gunnison County regarding the bridge closure West from Gunnison to Montrose on Hwy 50. He's been fighting for Hinsdale County commuters from the onset of that bridge closure. Not only do I recommend Greg Levine for another term as District 1 County Commissioner, but if I were not retired and if I owned any business or corporation, I would ensure Greg worked for me. You don't get a more loyal, intelligent, harder-working representative than Greg Levine.
